There are two routes into the parks, Hwy 180 from Fresno and Hwy 198 from Visalia.  We stayed in Three Rivers. I've included a route from #3 to #4 and #5 which are outside Sequoia NP. Starting at #4 you go North on Dry Creek Drive which joins Hwy 245 in Badger and then Hwy 245 joins Hwy 180 about 3 miles West of the Park enterance.  The is a good route if you quickly want to get from one end of the Park to the other, or want to get away from the rain / cold at the top.

Looking up canyon from the paved pullout approximate "half way" down the hill In front of the Kings Canyon Lodge. The lodge was first built some the time in the '20s?? The date on the pumps and pictures in side differed by 10 years. Per the sign this pumps are the oldest pumps of this type in service. When we were here in May '09, the gas price was $23 for a six gallon minimum
