The original plan was to go straight though to Bend and spend Tuesday in Bend. However, cleaning up the flower beds on Sunday, Roy stabbed himself in the eye. He thought that it was just a scratch but at 10:30pm it was hurting worse - so off to the emergency room. He scratched both the cornea and eye ball. Come to find out on Tuesday, the emergency doctor only treated 1/3 of the problem - gave him a anitbodic but nothing to control the swelling and pain. We called our friend in Bend to get the name of a ophthalmologist and scheduled an appointment for Tuesday afternoon.
So at 12:30pm off, we go with "1-1/2 eyes Roy". We got to Red Bluff at 5pm and it was 113F. It was much nicer by the time we got into Mt Shasta. Had dinner and a few extra beers to kill the pain in the eye!
