Woke up at the "regular" time and there was a light rain falling. From the looks of the parking lot, it has been doing it for a while. Walked down to the cafeteria for breakfast - great we just got in before the tour busses let out their hordes! Yesterday, I realized that I didn't have any waterproof covers for my gloves. The nice lady at the "junk" (curio) shop gave be a couple of thick carry out bags - the worked great as glove covers. Hung out in the room for a while to see if the rain would stop. No such luck, fortunately it was not hard, mainly annoying so off we go.
Roy miss judged the temperature and got too warm so the faceshield fogged up. But leaving it open, his glasses got rain spotted. So we stop along side the road and he dressed down but got wetter 'cause it's still raining. Got to the Icefield Center, found a place to sit, get a snack and dry out some, and wait for the rain to stop. The rain stopped but the clouds did not rise so no trips to the icefield. We head down the highway towards Jasper. After about 6 miles, it poured for the next 45 minutes.
By the time we got to Sunwapta Falls, the rain quit. We explored the falls and headed for Athabasca Falls to explore. Catherine had read in a brochure about Milgne Lake to the East of Highway 93. So when we got to Jasper we headed for Milgne Lake. We got to Medicine Lake and the scenery was getting "same oh, same oh". So after spending time taking pictures of the caribou, we need to head to Valemount for the night.
Had a great ride out Highway 16 to Mt Robson and then South to Valemount. By the time we got to Mt Robson, the clouds had parted and there was blue sky!!
