Got up to a chilly morning but the sky was clear except for a few puffy clouds over the mountain peaks. Met a couple on Harley from Fresno, Ca on a one-way trip to Alaska. Once they were done, they were shipping their bike back and flying home.
We had a nice ride down Hwy 5 along the Tompson River. Couldn't figure out the "real" highway speed, posted at 100 KM but got run over unless we were going 140 even by trucks!! Almost had an encounter with a bear. We were coming gliding/slowing into a highway construction zone flagger and merging lanes and caught sight of a bear about 50' off the road. But didn't have time to get stopped to turn around until we were flagged through the single track construction zone. We figured after getting through and turning around the bear would be long gone. Damn!
The ride from Sicamous via Hwy 97A to Vernon is a pretty ride.
