So we wake up, open the curtins and boy does it look cold and wet.  While we had breakfast, it poured and as we finished it broke up some.  Got on the road about 9:30 and stopped at the overlooks for Cedar Breaks National Monument (U.S. National Park Service). From Cedar Breaks to the junction of Hwys 148 and 14, we were right on the edge of showers - not enough to put on rain gear but if it keeps this up.... Fortunately as we headed down the mountain to Long Valley Junction, the shower did not follow us and it started to clear up some.  Stopped at Long Valley Junction to warm up some and then off to Zion National Park (U.S. National Park Service). We spend most of the afternoon in the Zion Canyon Visitor Center section of the park.  We got to  the Kolob Canyons section just before sunset.  One could definitely spend days hiking and exploring both areas if you're a fan of redrock canyons.  Definitely beautiful countryside!!  We "slabbed it" to Parawon and then Hwy 143 back to Brians Head - very pretty canyon but watch out for the deer. Got back to just after dark - not many miles but a long day and lots of sightseeing.
