Today is a take it easy day! ..... Or so we thought.

We got up late just in time for a good  breakfast at the Inn and back to the room to relax - it's hard walking 50 yards roundtrip.  We drove around the Dillon Reservoir and took a look at the Keystone ski resort.. What the heck let's check out Breckenridge and other than being "road repair season", the ride was great to Hoosier Pass. We ended up in Fairplay for lunch about 2pm. Well, let's continue down to Buena Vista and back via Hwy 24 and I70.  About 1/3 of the way between Fairplay and Buena Vista, I was ready to turn around and go back. We must have had a 60 degree headwind between 30 and 40 MPH based on the instantaneous MPG computer... Once we got to the junction of Hwy 9 and 24, it got nice - thank goodness..

We spotted 1 FJR at a gas station coming into Buena Vista and 1 going the opposite on Hwy 24.  Pretty ride up the valley from Buena Vista into Leadville. I had to go by the Leadville airport (KLXV) - 9927'. My flight instructor flies to Leadville to teach a high altitude flying course. I'd not been there but needed to see it up close and personal - thus the pictures of the airport. If we're back in the area, I'll like to check out some of the B&Bs and perhaps stay there.  We rode down Hwy 24 to I70. The last half of this section was a great canyon and quite nice.  We stopped in Vail for a drink and snack. Vail was not what I expected.

Back to Frisco for a shower, dinner and beer.
