The plan was to go to Green River,WY, spend the night and the next day head to Craig, UT. When we stopped in Evanston, WY at JBs Resturant, the temperature was very comfortable. So over lunch, we got a room reservation in Vernal, UT and re-route through Fort Bridger via Hwy 414 to the Flaming Gorge National Recretational Area and on to Vernal, UT. Lunch at JBs was very good food and service, and a god mix of bikers and locals.
Great decision!! The geography between Fort Bridger and Flaming Gorge was very interesting and different than we'd see before. We stopped in Manila, UT at a gas station and for a couple of ice creams, the toured the resort and harbor on the reservior, and then on to Vernal, UT. We stayed at the Best Western Dinosaur Inn - okay room and place to wash the bugs off the bikes, but forget their resturant. The office staff recommend Club Xs for good food and a place to get a drink with dinner. Since we don't drink and ride, we got a cab (less than $10 with tip each way) and got there before their night club persona kicked in. The service, food and drinks were worth cab ride.
